Adaptation decision-makers from Namibia and Zambia met in Lusaka, Zambia, for a 1:1 bilateral peer learning workshop to share lessons and experiences on the national adaptation plan (NAP) process with a focus on the transition from planning to implementation.
The NAP Global Network provided technical and financial support for the workshop through funding from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This workshop marked the first meeting workshop held under a new area of peer learning offered by the Network, “1:1 Peer Learning Partnerships,” and builds on exchanges between Namibia and Zambia at a global-level Peer Learning Forum on the NAP process held in Zimbabwe in February 2024.
The workshop objectives were to
- understand data gaps and address data needs for NAP development,
- facilitate knowledge exchange on best practices for establishing effective institutional frameworks to oversee and implement NAPs in Namibia,
- learn from implemented projects, allowing the Namibian NAP team to gain practical insights into Zambia’s approach to NAP implementation, and
- enhance understanding of the transition from planning to implementation.
