Government representatives from eight Asia-Pacific countries met in Manila, Philippines, for a peer learning event focused on strengthening the institutionalization of climate adaptation investment planning as part of the transition from planning to implementation in national adaptation plan (NAP) processes.
Building on the 2026 Climate Adaptation Investment Planning (CAIP) Program Forum, participants from Armenia, Fiji, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, the Philippines, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Viet Nam participated in technical dialogues on their countries’ approaches to institutionalizing adaptation investment planning.
Country representatives highlighted the gaps and needs for ongoing support for the transition from planning to implementation in the NAP process. They also explored processes and operations that support the scaling up of adaptation investment, including building the right systems, using the right levers, and engaging the right actors.
Co-hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the NAP Global Network, this peer learning event also provided an opportunity for country representatives to share experiences on these themes and hear real-world examples of how to develop the systems and processes that can turn adaptation ambition into sustained implementation.
This peer learning event was funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
