Why the National Adaptation Plan Process Matters for the Education Sector

Key actions for integration

Climate change is taking place at an unprecedented pace and is impacting the education sector. While this sector is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, it is also critical to building the resilience of communities.

This at-a-glance summary provides an overview of how education and climate change actors can work together through national adaptation plan (NAP) processes to plan and implement adaptation action. It also outlines potential roles for education ministries at each stage of adaptation planning, based on our recent publication ‘Engaging the Education Sector in the NAP Process: a guidance note for education ministries.

A companion infographic for NAP teams is also available.
