Capacity-building Knowledge to Action Day

The Capacity-building Knowledge to Action Day will take place during the upcoming Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Climate Week and the Asia-Pacific Regional Climate Week. The event in Salvador, Brazil, on August 19, is co-organized by the IDRC, PCCB, NAP Global Network, NDC Partnership, UNU-EHS and the UNFCCC Secretariat. On September 2, in Bangkok, Thailand, it is co-organized by the PCCB, NAP Global Network, NDC Partnership, SEI, ICCCAD, LUCCC, UNESCAP, UN Environment, UNU-EHS  and the UNFCCC Secretariat.

The events aim to encourage regional dialogue and mobilize expertise for the more effective preparation and implementation of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by identifying and connecting committed partners to explore the cross-sectoral synergies and foster lasting impacts through effective climate action.

The NAP Global Network will take part in several sessions in which universities and research institutions will have the opportunity to exchange views and experiences on addressing capacity-building gaps and needs, with relevant stakeholders involved in the preparation and implementation of NAPs and NDCs with a view to accelerating climate action and ambition.

The results from both workshops will be presented at the 2nd Capacity-Building Hub during COP 25 in Santiago, Chile, in December.
