The National Climate Change Council (NCCC) is the highest-level body for climate change coordination in Kenya, chaired by the President, with the Deputy President as Vice-Chair, and supported by the Directorate of Climate Change as Secretariat. The Council oversees the National Climate Change Action Plan, ensures mainstreaming across national and subnational levels, and advises on policy and legislation. It includes up to nine members from national and subnational governments, civil society, the private sector, youth, marginalized communities, and academia. The National Climate Change Council meets at least four times a year and may establish committees as needed.
