The Council oversees enforcement of the Climate Change Act, monitors international agreement implementation, and guides integration of climate concerns into government policies. It approves and oversees adaptation and mitigation policies, monitors national and local climate plans, and ensures compliance with UNFCCC submissions. Additionally, it sets guidelines for protecting resources and biodiversity affected by climate change and reviews the National Climate Change Report to issue relevant directions.
