En los últimos años, Colombia ha realizado importantes avances en la promoción de un desarrollo resiliente y compatible con el clima. El Plan Nacional de Adaptación al Cambio Climático (PNACC) fue creado para lograr la reducción del riesgo y de los impactos socio-económicos asociados a la variabilidad y al cambio climático. Los esfuerzos del PNACC fueron recogidos en la Contribución Nacional Prevista y Determinada (iNDC) presentada ante la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre Cambio Climático (CMNUCC), en la que el país incluyó un componente de adaptación orientado al trabajo con territorios, sectores estratégicos, e instrumentos de planificación, entre otros.
El evento “Plan Nacional de Adaptación de Colombia: Avanzando Juntos en la Implementación del PNACC” se realizará los días 17 y 18 de mayo en Bogotá, buscando fortalecer el proceso de implementación del PNACC mediante la identificación de retos y oportunidades.
El evento es organizado por el Departamento Nacional de Planeación (DNP) y el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible de Colombia (MADS), con el apoyo del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos y el Instituto Internacional para el Desarrollo Sostenible (IISD) de Canadá.
Colombia’s National Adaptation Plan: Advancing Together in the NAP’s Implementation

In the last few years, Colombia has made significant progress promoting a resilient, climate-compatible development. The National Adaptation Plan (NAP) was created in order to reduce the risk and the socio-economic impacts associated with climate change and variability. NAP efforts are reflected in the Intended National Determined Contributions (iNDCs) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), including an adaptation component focused on the work with territories, strategic sectors, and planning instruments, among others.
The event “Colombia’s National Adaptation Plan: Advancing Together in the NAP’s Implementation” will take place May 17 and 18 in Bogota, in order to strengthen the implementation the NAP process through the identification of challenges and opportunities.
The event is organized by the National Planning Department (DNP, in Spanish) and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADS, in Spanish), with the support of the United States Government and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
