Sustained, country-driven exchanges between 2-3 countries to support mutual learning and shared progress
1:1 Peer Learning Partnerships are a new approach by the NAP Global Network that combines the Network’s successful South-South Peer Exchange Program and the principle of sustained learning.
Representatives from 2-3 countries meet multiple times, either in-person or virtually, to discuss needs, challenges, and opportunities related to a specific topic in their NAP process. Partnerships are built upon common priorities in the NAP process and reflect shared, ongoing progress made by all involved countries.
Read some highlights about an example of 1:1 peer learning here:
Q: How do countries join 1:1 peer learning partnerships?
A: Peer learning is demand-driven and voluntary, and countries are welcomed to indicate to a NAP GN representative that they want to learn from/with another country, or contact us at info@napglobalnetwork.org.
Q: How do I know which country we should work/exchange with?
A: Interests in working with another country can emerge from conversations at larger peer learning events or forums. If you are unsure which country has relevant experience on the topic of your interest, the NAP GN can assist in identifying and recommending a contact among our partners from peer NAP teams.
Q: How exactly does the NAP GN support 1:1 peer learning partnerships?
A: Besides making the initial contact between countries, the NAP GN provides financial support for the meetings, including travel, accommodation, venue, and other logistical costs. A technical policy advisor supports in the framing of concepts and development of meeting agendas leading up to and during the exchanges. The NAP GN can also support facilitation, logistics, and communications as needed.
Q: How many people are involved in a peer exchange?
A: Exchanges can involve between 5-15 people, representing 2-3 countries. When a peer exchange is hosted by a participating country in-person, the visiting delegation may generally have up to 5-6 people.
