Representatives from Africa and Latin America shared their diverse experience with local adaptation planning and implementation in this side event.
This event showcased lessons learned and best practices in creating strategic links to NAP processes that present an opportunity to establish mechanisms for channeling finance to local levels.

Experts from the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network Secretariat participated the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 25) alongside governments, researchers, private sector actors and members of civil society to discuss advancing national adaptation planning and action.
National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes are the foundation for effective adaptation action. The UN reports that 120 developing countries have now launched NAP processes. This article collects stories from 12 countries that—led by national governments—reached milestones in their NAP processes in 2019 as part of the global effort to build resilience in a changing climate.
