Monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems are vital for tracking progress and determining the effectiveness of national adaptation plan (NAP) processes. They help illustrate what’s working, how it’s working, and for whom, all while pointing the way to improvements in climate change adaptation actions. To support climate change adaptation teams in national governments, and practitioners, a new self-paced online course, ‘Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for National Adaptation Plan Processes,’ is now available.
The session focused on introducing the course on MEL in NAP processes and outlining its purpose, structure, and unique features. In this online launch event, the course instructors highlighted how MEL approaches are already shaping NAP processes around the world and answered questions from participants. We also heard from guest speakers sharing their experience with MEL and how it strengthened NAP processes in their own countries.
