This synthesis report aims to assess the extent to which countries have integrated nature-based solutions (NbS) and ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) into their NAP documents.
The Ministry of Environment in Rwanda has implemented a climate adaptation monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) system to assess adaptation outcomes in the human settlement and transport sectors. This initiative aims to evaluate progress against Rwanda’s nationally determined contribution (NDC), with a focus on monitoring the resilience of infrastructure and communities to climate change impacts. […]
Rwanda’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) implemented its first work program from April 2022 to February 2023. The program focused on operationalizing a framework for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) for climate change adaptation, with the agriculture sector serving as a pilot test, in line with Rwanda’s revised commitments under its nationally determined contribution (NDC). The […]
This webinar explored some common questions about the adaptation chapter of Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and how countries can leverage the outputs and results of their National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes for their transparency reporting. The speakers also walk us through on how the new UAE Framework for Global Climate Resilience (the Global Goal on […]
This report presents an analysis of how countries are advancing vertical integration in NAP processes. The findings are based on data collected through a review of NAP documents submitted to the UNFCCC’s NAP Central as of July 2023, and the recommendations are complemented with information gathered during the NAP Global Network Secretariat’s engagement with countries’ NAP teams.
At the 2024 UN Bonn Climate Change Conference, countries will initiate the assessment of the progress in the formulating and implementing their NAPs.
How do we know if National Adaptation Plans (NAP) are making a dent in reducing vulnerability? NAP progress reports play a critical role in assessing a country’s climate change preparedness and advising on next steps. They consolidate the information gathered from monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities and encourage countries to continuously learn, adapt, and improve on their climate change adaptation efforts.
Anne Hammill, Associate Vice-President, IISD, addresses the adaptation gaps from the latest IPCC Synthesis Report and highlights the critical role of the National Adaptation Plan.
While at the Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB 56), the NAP Global Network Secretariat launched a new synthesis report that highlights how developing countries continue to make progress in applying gender-responsive approaches to their national adaptation planning and actions.
This document is the third in a series of synthesis reports that assess progress on gender-responsive approaches in National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes at the global level. The progress shown in this report demonstrates the potential of NAP processes as a mechanism for ensuring that climate action addresses gender and social inequalities.
