Government actors from 8 countries joined a peer learning event in Dakar, Senegal, to learn how to increase the efficiency of their National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) with risk and vulnerability assessments (RVAs).

Des acteurs gouvernementaux de 8 pays ont participé à un événement d’apprentissage entre pairs à Dakar, au Sénégal, pour apprendre comment améliorer l’efficacité de leurs plans nationaux d’adaptation (PNA) à l’aide d’évaluations des risques et des vulnérabilités (ERV).
Representatives from Africa and Latin America shared their diverse experience with local adaptation planning and implementation in this side event.
This event showcased lessons learned and best practices in creating strategic links to NAP processes that present an opportunity to establish mechanisms for channeling finance to local levels.

This session, led by the NAP Global Network, explored the real-world challenges involved in strategically linking adaptation efforts across various levels of governance, including through collaboration with non-state actors.
The blueprint for any adaptation action must be developed with the people it aims to protect and benefit. This Q&A provides insights on how vertical integration efforts can assure this inclusivity and representation in national planning processes.
