OUR PROGRAM

The NAP Global Network established an in-country support program in 2024 with Belize’s Ministry of Blue Economy and Disaster Risk Management, as well as the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment, to support the development and implementation of Belize’s Coastal Zone and Fisheries sector NAP.

The program focuses on raising awareness among stakeholders and coastal communities about climate change and adaptation efforts, using local and scientific knowledge to protect marine resources, and developing decision-support systems to guide NAP implementation and enhance climate resilience in the sector.

  • Vulnerability and Livelihood Assessments for Caye Caulker and Placencia Bay: Through the Country Support Hub, conducted vulnerability and livelihood assessments in two coastal communities to evaluate their vulnerability to climate change and the impact on local livelihoods, informing the country’s sectoral NAP and providing baseline information for monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems.
